when i was but a young girl...

Shoulder pads, I think for most people my age, are really funny, like a total joke. I just think of the 80s. If you go to SCRAP they often have a bin of them. When I was a kid, I had a great plan to make use of them...

a pouch (as i called it).

i guess chapstick might fit in it...
I think I was just writing this tutorial for friends/my own use...but it's so amusing to me now that I had a little plan.
Ha, my "rules" are Be Creative and Have Fun.

If I did it for school, I don't remember. And somehow I think I would have been totally capable to do this tutorial just for the fun of it. I guess this goes to show that from the beginning I have been taking random unwanted supplies and turning them into other things. I found both the pouch and tutorial in storage bins I was sorting through last week.

ABZs

i just found an old notebook which i think i took to the beach when i was a kid, because i have tallys of the colors of VW bugs. i also have alphabet games, sometimes you write down words you see from signs along the road, but i think most of these were ones i just made up. haha.
so here goes:

A boy called Drew everyday found girls hugely impressive. Just knuckles like mine now offer peace. Quite right she told us. Very well xylophones yellow Zounds!

Apples by cacti do everything for good houses. (this one was never finished).

A big cold donkey, eeyore, flew goldenly high in Jupiter. Kings limp most naturally over poor, quiet, round, stocky tables. Umbrellas, vivid with xylophones, youthful zzzzz.

Angel babies can dance every fall. Happy in joking, Katie laughed most naisely over people quietly raising sheep that understood very wealthy xylophones you zonked. (the end of the alphabet is tricky...x is always for xylophone, and Z is rarely a real word.)

A big colorful dude elephant forgot girls, how impossible! Josh kissed Laura, me. (ewwww... i had a crush on him in like 7th grade... and no we never kissed, or even aknowledged the fact that we liked each other.) No one placed quilted rugs standing tall. Ugly valiences will xylophone you, Zee.

After breakfast cats dance everywhere for gold hens in junky kitchens. Laughing mongeese nose openly picturesquely (what?!). Quiet rugs stay tall underneath very white xylophones' yellow zephers.

and now i'm going to make some off the top of my head:

Art boats can drink each fountain, gulping huge icicles. Jesus knows life more now, otherwise parrots quietly riot. Straight tables under vases will x-plode, yes, Zamm!! (as in ka-zamm!)

And by Caesar, donuts eat freely, gazing high in June. Kites linger morosely never over paridise. Quiz right, Sally, today useful verbs with xylophones yell "Zebra"!

aha. okay I'm done.

narwal's rule

my friend zion made this for me. well, actually, i bought it, and some of the money went to him, and some went to buying socks for people without houses in portland.
um yeah, he's 7 and makes his own comics and stuff. and i totally love this picture.

he's also part of the improv group called The Big Bashed. they sing about mario, the lion king, farting, pandas, you know, all the good stuff.
and he had a narwhal themed b-day party.

there was a narwhal pinata too. haha. amazing.

ps: has everyone read the book/ seen the movie called "why the whales came" it's about narwhals, and people living on the scilly islands. i can lend you a copy of the book. it's by michael morpurgo. it's a kid's chapter book from 1985.
