cannes!

these are gonna be out of order, sorry! and i don't have any Paris pictures uploaded.
and i just have to laugh right now, cuz there was a fire drill during when i was uploading pictures, and i had to leave the building, and i assumed it was a fire drill, but wasn't sure, and everyone else was in class and stuff, and i didn't know where to go. but yeah, the tennis courts i guess is where you assemble. haha. and it was just a drill so it was okay. but it was really random.

at the top of the Suquet, there's a church, and you can see the sea, and Cannes, and it's pretty cool!

i'm in France! it's awesome and also way different than i expected in some ways. anyways, i miss portland! hehe. but where i am there are palm trees, and it's super sunny but also windy, and the mediterranean is about a block away, and the sunsets are pretty. it's weird, most of the people at the college i'm hanging out at seem to just talk in english. haha. so i've mainly just had to try to talk in french at restaurants, which is hard and scary, and i always feel really stupid. oh well.

um, yeah, the train ride from paris to cannes is amazing. it's 5 hours on the tgv (super fast train). and we went from cloudyish paris to snowyish countryside, to later as we went south just getting more and more sunny. on the weekend, brianne's sister was here too, so we went out to dinner, and walked around cannes, and watched "king of kong" and "my left foot" and knitted.

i'll be here until thursday and then i'll take the train back to paris, and then a few hours later head towards the airport home. it was amazing to take the train because paris is such a big city and i felt sort of overwhelmed, though it was amazing and i wish i could see more of it. but it was just so nice to pass by smaller towns and villages and to see fields and moutons (sheep).

i've started my easter comic (alissa and i are making comics about spending easter in different countries) and so yeah, it's planned out, but i decided i wanted to do more than 3 panels, so i need to finish drawing it out and then add color. and i planned to draw a ton on this trip, and i didn't draw on the plane at all. and i practiced drawing different kinds cats for a while, but it's hard, so i'll keep working on it.

so i have a ton more pictures, and maybe when i can post the next ones, it'll make more sense. tonight we're going to watch "once," which i haven't seen yet. maybe watch the sunset, i'm knitting super cool fingerless mitts, and they knit up really fast, which is fun.
